Jason Newman joined Grassroots Targeting in 2021 after graduating from Claremont McKenna College with a major in Government and a sequence in Legal Studies. His passion for politics and government is rooted in his appreciation for public service and bettering society. In 2019, Jason’s experience interning for Congressman Steve Scalise and Senator Bill Cassidy in DC further heightened his enthusiasm for politics.
During his senior year at Claremont McKenna, Jason served as the vice president and director of events for his class cabinet, and he wrote his senior thesis on the history of capital punishment in the United States. On campus, he enjoyed being a member of the mock trial team, the club ski team, and dorm president; his favorite courses were Study of Law and The Death Penalty Debate. Jason also spent time volunteering at a local after-school children’s center tutoring underprivileged children in mathematics, English, history, geography, and other subjects.
Jason is originally from New York City, where he grew up with his triplet brothers, and attended boarding school in New Jersey where he was a competitive skier.
